Rhonda Nugent

ACA Registered Counsellor, M. Couns, B. Fin. Admin, Dip. Ed.

Throughout my life I have pursued my passion for helping people to overcome adversity and to live their best life story. Starting my career as an accounting teacher, I moved on to specialise in adult learning and supporting second chance learners. In these roles, I was privileged to learn from the stories of hundreds of students who have overcome hardship and made a conscious decision to change their lives for the better. My desire to learn more about the ways that people can be resilient in the face of adversity inspired me to study counselling. I graduated from the QUT Masters of Counselling program in 2020. As a strong believer in the value of lifelong learning, I am always studying to improve my skills. I am currently a Level 2 counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association.

-Nicky Murray, Ipswich YMCA Vocational School

“You took on a 52 year old woman recovering from PTSD and major depression who has documented neuropsychological damage to cognitive function … and you coached her to a high distinction. Thank you for all of your efforts in clearing the fog that was nearly always hovering around my brain. You are a champion!”
